Complete Emptiness

In Mark 5 the woman with the issue of blood was miraculously made whole. And in Mark 6 Jairus's daughter was raised from the dead. Why did they so easily receive from God? Maybe it was their humility. I believe that our receiving from God has a lot to do with how full our cupboard is of ourselves. And just aside from receiving, what about how much we can do for God. Can we really do anything for Him if all we can think about is what we need or want? No. Isn't that our goal in life? To fulfill His calling, His plan, His purpose for our lives? When it really comes down to it, everything else is pointless. But until we lay ourselves aside how effective can we really be? The Lord is so faithful and as we give Him our time, He shows us what we must rid ourselves of. That's what He's doing with Me right now. And as I yield to His voice, I know a greater measure of His glory will be displayed from my life. So let's be like the woman with the issue of blood and humbly come before Jesus empty of ourselves.

Less of Me, More of Him

In Luke 13, Jesus was with His disciples at supper and began to wash their feet. Jesus the King of Kings picked up their dirty feet and cleaned them. Then Jesus charged them to do as He did. The washing of feet was an act of service that the servants did. When Jesus began in this action I am sure the disciples almost fell out of their seats. I think it is very interesting that this event took place only a few chapters before he was handed over to the officers and Jewish law to be crucified. Jesus knew what was coming, but that didn't stop Him from serving others. Most of us today would just sit in our homes and cry all day if we knew we were going to die in a few days. But Jesus, set aside HIS emotions in order that He could efficiently serve. He served right up until the day that He died. He was being a servant to all of us in order for us to go to Heaven. Smith Wigglesworth once said, "The greatest plan that Jesus ever presented in His ministry was the ministry of service." Today, I set a goal to purposefully be the hands and feet of Jesus.

Squeaky Clean

All He is asking for is for us to make ourselves clean. That's it. Then God in all of His splendor can truly be manifest

Romans 12:1

And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.
